The First Fantastic Phantom Photo Contest!

Announcing our first Re-Vamp reader challenge! We Mad Doctors are huge fans of ghostly photography--real or, ah, shall we say, embellished! So for our first reader challenge, we're asking you to submit your best ghost photography--or phantomly photoshop jobs! Whether you take the horrifying high road or the creepily comedic one, we're eager to see your haunted images!

The Prize
The Mad Doctors will write a short story inspired by the winning image. In addition, if the winner so desires, a black and white reproduction of the winning photo will be included in the forthcoming Re-Vamp print anthology, and in color in any electronic edition.

The Dates
Entries will be accepted from today through February 16th, 2010, 11:59 pm PST. Prizes will be awarded February 28th, 2010 to celebrate the end of Round 2!

The Rules
-To submit your photos, comment to this post with a link to the photo, or with the photo embedded in the comment, or email images to mad.docs.of.lit[at]gmail.com with the subject line "Phantom Photo Contest". For the sake of everyone's browser window, please keep embedded images to a maximum width of 600 pixels, and link to your larger final image. Please note whether or not you wish to be included in the Re-Vamp anthology.

-If you wish to be considered for inclusion in the print anthology, final photos must be at least 1200 pixels on the longest edge. Larger photos are just fine. We can accept JPG, GIF, PNG or TIF images.

-You may enter as many times as you like.

-If your photo is for any reason Not Safe For Work (super gory, nudity, etc), please link to it and include a (NSFW) note before or after the link. If you're emailing, please include NSFW in the subject line.

-Please use only photos you have the rights to use! We don't want you to get in trouble with serious souls who might not understand why you've added that spooky skunk to their vacation photos.

-Please, nothing that might be illegal in the UK or US--we will not accept any images that violate US or UK law, or that are racist, incite hate, defamatory, or otherwise in extremely poor taste. And though we do enjoy a good bit of smut, please no pornography either.
